On Wednesday evenings from January 10 to May 30, the Centering Prayer Ministry will study Centering Prayer and Inner Awakening by Episcopal priest Cynthia Bourgeault, a well-known writer on the spiritual life. All are invited to participate.
In this guidebook, Rev. Bourgeault goes beyond an introduction to Centering Prayer and examines how the practice is related to the classic tradition of Christian contemplation, looks at the distinct nuances of its method, and explores its revolutionary potential to transform Christian life.
Topics covered in the book’s chapters include the Centering Prayer method, the tradition, the psychology of the practice, and how it leads to inner awakening.
Each Wednesday, the ministry comes together as a community at 6:00 p.m. in the Church Chapel to experience God’s peaceful presence in silent prayer. We then move to the Bride’s Parlor in the Winderweedle Center for presentations and small group discussion. We adjourn promptly at 7:30 p.m. For more information, please contact Nestor de Armas at or (407) 415-7161.
