Choir Club Is Calling All Children In Kindergarten through Fifth Grades
Our Choir Club encompasses children in kindergarten through fifth grade and is divided into two groups: kindergarten-through-second grade, and third-through-fifth grade students.
Kindergarten through Second Grade Choristers
During the school year, our kindergarten, first, and second graders sing at the 9:00 a.m. service on the first Sunday of the month.
Third through Fifth Grade Choristers
Boys and girls in third-through-fifth grades sing a unison or two-part anthem on the second Sunday of the month at the 9:00 a.m. service. On third Sundays, they join with the Teen Choir at 9:00 a.m. for the experience of being in a group that sings in four parts.
The Royal School of Church Music Choristers Training Program (RSCM) forms the basis for the musical and spiritual approach to the Choir Club. The RSCM format aims to nurture Christian community and impart the musical skills leading to the highest level of excellence in choral performance. Choristers are encouraged to attend a national RSCM Chorister’s Training Week during the summer. These training courses are held in several major cities throughout the United States and England.
The Choir Club has hosted and combined with guest RSCM Choirs and sings once a year with other RSCM choirs from the Diocese of Central Florida. We also present a Christmas Pageant on Christmas Eve at the 4:00 p.m. service.
When Do We Meet?
Choir Club meets on Wednesday afternoons from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. during the school year. For more information contact Choir Club Coordinator Sarah Martin.
